Summer Vacation

1 min read

The summer has flown by and you’ve probably watched your non-lawyer friends and their families trotting off to fun destinations.  If you haven’t done that yet, there’s still time.  Here are 3 reasons why you should make time away a priority.

  1. Burnout is real. Too little time away from your desk can make you irritable but it can also impact your decision-making.
  2. Your family may need a break from your law practice as well. I can guarantee they will enjoy feeling like they have your undivided attention.
  3. Your clients and your staff will get along just fine without you. Let them know you’re going to be out and who they are to contact should a problem arise when you’re gone.

Taking time away is part of building a healthy boundary between your life at home and your life at work.  Make it a top priority instead of wishful thinking.
